The College Orientation & Life Activities (COLA) Program is offered by the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism for Towson University undergraduate students with Autism.
Limited spaces open for Spring 2017!
This program focuses on addressing challenges, developing strengths and talents, exploring opportunities, and planning for success as a Towson University student. Key areas of support are individualized according to the student’s goals.
The COLA program includes weekly individual meetings with a professional staff member, weekly meeting(s) with an undergraduate student peer mentor, and periodic group meetings with other COLA students and mentors. The program may include work exploration activities based on the COLA student’s needs and goals. The COLA student’s active participation in and on-going self-evaluation are important components of the program.
Two levels of the COLA program are offered; the programs have the same components, but different number of hours of support:
- COLA Regular program: $4000 per semester (in addition to other TU tuition and fees)
- COLA Lite program: $2500 per semester (in addition to other TU tuition and fees)
Note: The COLA information and intake fee is $100 (paid separately from the program fee)
Financial Awards are available for up to 80 percent of the program cost of the 2017 Spring program. To be eligible for a Jill Fox Memorial Fund Financial Award for this program, the student must meet certain criteria, including being a Maryland resident, having an autism diagnosis, and having financial need. Application forms are available upon request.
