OTS Training Tip of the Week

iOS 10 Tips

If you are an early adopter of the new iOS for Apple products, you’ve probably noticed some changes. Here are some settings and new functions that can help you:

Sliding to unlock your iPhone is gone.

Here’s a setting to enable resting your finger on the home button to unlock. Please keep in mind that this is only for Apple devices that support Touch ID.

  1. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button
  2. Toggle on Rest Finger to Unlock

You can now view your notifications without pressing any buttons.

By picking up your phone, the screen will automatically wake. If this setting is not for you, there is a way to disable it.

  1. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness
  2. Toggle off Raise to Wake

Siri can do more.

If you would like to know all of the functions Siri can perform, as Siri “What can you do?”. This will bring up a list of apps Siri can control along with the pertinent voice commands.

Your iPhone knows where you parked your car.

If you utilize a Bluetooth to connect to your car to play music or make calls hands free, your iPhone will remember where you parked. After you leave your car, you will receive a notification that the location has been marked. When you receive the notification, tap it to add a photo or a text note as well. You can also open the Maps app and touch Parked Car to navigate back to your vehicle.
