Dr. Alex Storrs, Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences, will present a planetarium show titled, Black Holes. “Even physics has limits, and one of those limits is found in the phenomenon we call Black Holes. These are places where matter is so compressed that even light cannot escape, and since we fundamentally know about the universe by studying light Black Holes represent one limit to what we can study. We will discuss what we do know about these objects, including the possibility of some of these being close to the Solar System.”
One show on Friday, August 19th starting promptly at 8 pm, SM 521, telescope viewing afterward, weather permitting.
