On August 9th, some small changes were made to the library’s website. While these changes are mostly cosmetic, they are the first in a series of changes that we will be making to prepare for a fully redesigned website in the coming months.
Here is a detailed list of the changes:
Header
- Updated header/banner image
- Updated styling of buttons linking to Blackboard, Webmail, OTS, SCS, and AAS
- Updated font and/or styling of “Albert S. Cook Library” next to TU logo
Research Guides
- Replaced “Subject Gateways” and “Course Gateways” links with a link to the new guides platform, branded as “Research Guides”
- Renamed “Research Databases” to “Databases”
Tabbed Search
- Moved “All” “Books” “Article” options to inside “Cook OneSearch” tab
- Changed tabbed search box from 5 tabs to 2: “Cook OneSearch” and “Library Website and Research Guides will be indexed in Library Website search
- Helper text is above search box “Search articles, journals, books, media, and more”
- Changed “powered by Cook OneSearch” to “Advanced Search”
Icons
- Updated icons from row of links below tabbed search
- Use teal color and rounded corners to integrate better into the design
- Use A-Z rather than obscure Database icon
Miscellaneous
- Moved link to Special Collections from Services menu to Research menu as “Archives” below “Collections”
- Updated “ILLiad” in Quick Links to “Interlibrary Loan”
- Removed Delicious link from social media links and updated social media icons
