To better serve and accommodate the growing campus community, several parking changes will go in effect prior to the beginning of the fall term. Please carefully read all parking signs to ensure that you are parking in a valid location for your permit type.
- Freshman resident students (those living in any type of campus housing) are restricted from purchasing a parking permit or having a vehicle on campus until they have earned thirty credits. Limited exceptions for specific situations may be granted. Documentation will be required. Please visit our website for more information and applications.
- Please see the Parking & Transportation website for a variety of transportation options for students who do not have a vehicle on campus.
- Only need a vehicle periodically – Consider joining ZipCar. Two additional Zip Cars are coming to TU! They will be located on the York Road side of campus, near Newell Hall. TU community members are able to get a discount when joining ZipCar and only need to be 18 year old to be eligible to join. Other restrictions may apply. Please remember to check signs prior to parking. To assist you with finding a valid parking location for your permit type, signs are color coded as outlined below:
- Green Border – “Commuter” permits are required prior to 3 p.m.; all TU permits are valid in these areas after 3 p.m.
- Purple Border – “Resident” permits (lot specific) are required at ALL times.
- Black Border – Overflow parking. All TU permits are valid in these areas. (Note: West Village Resident permits are not valid in the West Village overflow areas until after 3 p.m.)
- Red Border – “Faculty/Staff” permits are required to during peak times as posted on signs. After posted times, all TU permits are valid in these areas.
