Transportation Changes for 2016/2017 School Year

To better serve and accommodate the growing campus community, several changes to the campus transportation program are coming.  Below are changes that will take effect at the beginning of the fall term.

  • TUTIGERRIDE ! – Want to know where the bus is or get accurate and fast prediction? Take advantage of TUTIGERRIDE! This new time-saving shuttle bus tracking system provides fast and accurate shuttle tracking and arrival predictions.  No need for cumbersome and confusing printed shuttle schedules.  All of the information you will need is right at your fingertips via iPhone or Android smart phone app, tablet or desktop computer.  The system also sends notifications when your bus is a few minutes away and when service disruptions happen. It sends other special announcements regarding the shuttle service, too.
  • A new card swipe system will simplify boarding the bus.  Please make sure you have your OneCard if you wish to ride any off campus shuttles.
  • Guests – new this year, members of the campus community will be allowed to have two guest travel with them when riding off-campus shuttles.
  • A friendly automated voice system will announce bus stops prior to reaching the stop.
  • The Rogers Forge/Walker Avenue shuttle now includes a stop along Lake Avenue.
  • The Tiger in Town evening shuttle has expanded and now includes service closer to most campus residence halls.  With few exceptions, you can ride the shuttle from your housing location to and from Uptown Towson!
  • The Black Express Route will now operate from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
  • Saferide will now end at 6 a.m. Monday – Friday, and 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
  • Gold Route service will now begin at 6 a.m. Monday – Friday.
  • Kenilworth Express (COMING MID TO LATE FALL)– a new express route will provide enhanced transport to campus during peak hours.
  • York Road/Southerly Route (COMING MID TO LATE FALL) – A new route will be available to serve the Uptown Towson areas and residential areas near Southerly Road.  The route will run between the campus and along the York Road corridor, providing service to the IWB, the Towson Center Mall and apartments in the area surrounding Southerly Road.
