Downtime Information for OTS’ Sunday Maintenance Window: Student email and other services affected

The Office of Technology Services (OTS) will perform system maintenance this Sunday, April 17 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The Shibboleth Authentication service which is used for logging into various web apps with your TU NetID, will be intermittently unavailable during that window. This means you may not have access to web applications that rely on the service including:

• Webmail Powered by Google (Student Email)
• WebEx
• TU Blogs (WordPress Sites)
• Xfinity on Campus (Comcast) IPTV
• Blackboard Support (blackboardsupport.towson.edu)
• Events.towson.edu
• Library research databases (off-campus) or Library Catalog
• Involved@TU
• SalesForce
• OmniUpdate (Web CMS)
• Simplicity Horizons (Study Abroad)
• Hire@TU

Due to the nature of the maintenance, other applications could experience intermittent connectivity issues during the maintenance window. When maintenance is complete, posts will be made to the OTS Alerts website http://alerts.towson.edu and twitter @OTSAlerts.

As a reminder, the Office of Technology Services’ maintenance window is every Sunday from 6 a.m. until noon. Faculty and users are advised to keep this maintenance window in mind when planning events, assignments and deadlines.
