Reminder: Lecture on Microaggressions (Scenarios and Solutions) is today at 5:30 pm!

What are microaggressions?  Dr. Kimberly Griffin recently wrote the article, Four Ways Teachers Can Address Microaggressions in the Classrooms.  We are fortunate to have her come to TU to discuss how to address this issue inside and outside the classroom.  She is a dynamic speaker you would not want to miss.  Please join us on:

 MONDAY – March 28 from 5:30 – 6:30 in Smith 326 (for students/faculty/staff)

and/or

TUESDAY – March 29 from 2:30 – 3:30 in Smith 356 (for faculty)

We look forward to seeing you at these very interesting sessions.

Dr. Griffin is an Associate Professor in the Higher Education, Student Affairs, and International Education Policy Program (Student Affairs Area) at the University of Maryland.  She does research in three areas: the access, experiences, and outcomes of underrepresented communities in higher education; diversity within the Black community; and mentoring relationships. Before completing her Ph.D. at UCLA, Dr. Griffin worked in higher education administration, focusing on student diversity, admissions and recruitment, and retention for both undergraduate and graduate students.

This event is sponsored by the Division of Academic Affairs, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity.
