Do you have a plan to finish your degree on time? “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”

The words of Benjamin Franklin sound a bit harsh, but ring true two and one half centuries since this quote that is attributed to him.   Nobody wants to fail. And Towson University wants all students to have a plan to SUCCEED!  Sophomores and Juniors, this is especially for you. Please read on!

Degree Completion Plan

If you have between 45 and 90 earned credits, you must complete an approved Degree Completion Plan. This is indicated in the Hold box on the Student Center with “Student Degree Plan Required”. This means that this semester, you are required by the University to complete and submit a plan of the courses you will take in each of your remaining semesters at Towson to finish your Bachelor’s Degree.  A degree completion plan takes into account not only the courses needed, but also the appropriate sequencing and timing of the courses.

To prepare your Degree Completion Plan:

  • check out Towson’s online undergraduate catalog for the recommended plan of study for your major;
  • review your Academic Requirements Report to see which graduation requirements you have met and which you need to complete; and
  • go to the website of your College or Major Department to find information about how to file a Degree Completion Plan with your advisor or academic department.
  • Special note for students who are studying abroad or participating in a National Student Exchange this semester. Some academic departments require submission of the Degree Completion Plan to allow removal of the Academic Advising hold. Be sure to check with your Towson advisor about this requirement.
