Physics of Superheroes

The Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences at Towson University will be hosting an event on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 11:00am – 1:00pm in our West Village Ballroom.

 

Dr. James Kakalios, a professor from the University of Minnesota, and author of two popular physics books, will lead a presentation examining the world of physics in the comic book world based on his book, “The Physics of Superheroes”.  Dr. Kakalios is a frequent consultant for Hollywood movies, including “Watchmen” and “The Amazing Spiderman”.

 

Attendees will enjoy Towson University Society of Physics students performing physics demonstrations, raffles, and an opportunity to meet Dr. Kakalios to have a copy of his book autographed.

 

Our schedule for the day is:

11:00am -11:30am – demonstrations and vendors

11:30am – 12:30pm – presentation by Dr. Kakalios

12:30pm – 1:00pm – demonstrations, vendors and book signing
