Towson University welcomes the International Society for Ecological Modelling biennial conference from May 8 – 12. The conference will bring together around 350 scientists and students from over 50 countries to present findings on their latest research using simulation models to investigate topics such as climate change, ecosystem services, biodiversity, conservation, lakes, wetlands, forests, as well as coupled human-natural systems such as urban areas and landscape change. Prior to the conference are four modeling courses offered by top scientists in the field, and following the conference are four field trips to local environmental areas.
More information about the conference and registration for the courses and field trips can be found at www.isemconference.com.
During the event, student volunteers will be needed to help assist in various capacities. Please contact Prof. Brian Fath (bfath@towson.edu) if you are interested to get involved or with any questions.
