Towson University undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines are encouraged to present their academic research and scholarly work at the annual Undergraduate and Graduate Student Research and Performance Expo. Students will each have the opportunity to showcase the results and progress of their academic work, gain experience in presenting it, and have their project abstract published.
These abstracts will published in a booklet created by the TU Office of Undergraduate Research (TOUR) and posted online.
Research, completed or in-progress, and as part of a class requirement, independent study, or thesis project is eligible for submission. Projects may cover a wide variety of topics and presentation styles, including oral and poster presentations, performances, art exhibitions, technology demonstrations, and film screenings.
Each Expo application must have the support of a TU faculty member. Applications can be downloaded online (www.towson.edu/undergradresearch) using the “Undergraduate & Graduate Research Expo” navigation index. The abstract submission deadline is Monday, March 21.
The Expo will be held in the University Union (Chesapeake Rooms and Rms. 305, 306) on Wednesday, April 20 from 1 – 3 p.m. Posters can be set up from 9-10:30 a.m. A luncheon for all EXPO presenters and their faculty mentors will take place from 11:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m.
NEW! Students who have received research and travel awards from the TU office of Undergraduate Research (TOUR) in Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 will be recognized at the Expo luncheon. Research awards will be presented to selected graduate students at this luncheon as well.
