Towson University announces a contest for the lyrics to our new Alma Mater!

Here is your chance to create a new tradition! Towson University is looking for a student, faculty/staff member, alum, or friend of the university to compose the lyrics for our new Alma Mater!  The person whose composition is chosen will be awarded $1000!

The music for the alma mater has already been selected and a recording can be found on the band website at http://www.towsonbands.com/almamater.  Just listen to the alma mater and write new lyrics with your own personal touch!  You are welcome to send written words in a word document and/or an audio file of the lyrics being sung.

Traditionally, the alma mater has a more heartfelt message than a more playful fight song.  The lyrics should convey the uniqueness of Towson University and be identifiable by all entities of our university community.  It is stressed that any lyrics submitted must be original and, if selected, all rights would be transferred to Towson University. The university reserves final artistic authority and may request revisions.
