October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance have designated October National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). This collaborative effort between government and industry was created to ensure that every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online.

2015 marks the 12th year of NCSAM. The theme is “Our Shared Responsibility” and the campaign slogan is STOP. THINK. CONNECT. when using the internet:

  • Stop: understand the risks and learn how to identify potential problems.
  • Think: take time to watch for warning signs and consider your online actions.
  • Connect: enjoy your Internet experience knowing you have taken the appropriate precautions.
