As you know, the 2015 Wellness Plan healthy activities deadline has been extended to 12/31/15!

Participants now have an additional 90 days to complete the activities for 2015:

  1. Select a primary care physician (PCP)
  2. Complete the health risk assessment (HRA)
  3. Review the results of the HRA with your PCP
  4. Return the signed physician form to your medical plan

Once the activities are completed, PCP copays will be waived through 12/31/15 and you avoid the premium surcharge in 2016!

Weekly Wellness Topic:  Fruits & Veggies:  More Matters

How many servings of fruits and vegetables should you eat every day?  It’s easy to meet the recommendations – simply make fruits and vegetables the focus of each meal.

Fruits and veggies are plentiful this time of year.  And, fruits and veggies can help with many common ailments.  Below are a few examples:

  • Blueberries help manage and reduce pre-hypertension, according to a new study in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Leafy greens (spinach, chard, kale), berries (blueberries, raspberries), and tomatoes can help manage blood sugar in those with pre-diabetes.
