Dr. Alex Storrs, Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences, will present a planetarium show titled, “Pluto!” in the Watson-King Planetarium, Smith Hall, Room 521.
The New Horizons mission just flew by Pluto on July 14, completing the first phase of humanity’s exploration of the solar system. In addition to our usual discussion of the night sky, we will look at hypotheses of Pluto’s composition over the years, and compare them to the preliminary results now coming back from the spacecraft, 4 ½ light hours away.”
Plan to come and enjoy the show on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 8:00pm.
Telescope viewing, weather permitting after the show.
