Fundraiser and Candlelight Vigil for Nepal Earthquake Victims

On April 25th, 2015, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, home of the Himalayas. The death toll has risen up to 5,489 and still counting. Thousands have been injured and left homeless. In addition, many of Nepal’s historic sites have been reduced to rubble. Nearly 5,000 schools have been destroyed and an estimated 530,000 houses were damaged across 39 of Nepal’s 75 districts. An estimate of reconstruction costs could top $5 billion or around 20 per cent of the country’s GDP.  The Nepalese students at TU would appreciate your participation in two events to help the earthquake victims.
