Saturday Morning Science: The Impact of Humans on Planet Earth as Seen From Space

There is little debate that humans are having a huge impact on planet Earth and are responsible for much of the global warming that is now taking place. Using images taken from space by the astronauts over the past 50 years, we will look at changes in the Earth that are directly attributable to human activity and that are visible from over 200 miles above. From rain forest destruction, the development of new agricultural areas using irrigation, and river pollution, we will travel around the Earth and explore the effect humans are having on their home planet.
This event is funded by the Big Read program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
