College of Liberal Arts, Room 2110
The Baltimore Hebrew Institute in the College of Liberal Arts invites you to “The Mitzvah,” a one-man play and lecture featuring Roger Grunwald. This play explores a hidden chapter of the Holocaust. In World War II, approximately 150,000 partially Jewish men, called Mischlinge, served in Hitler’s armed forces. The play and lecture are based on Mr. Grunwald’s family history. Both his mother and his aunt were Auschwitz survivors who lectured about their experience, yet still had pride in having been assimilated German Jews.
