October 22, 2014 is the second Health Insurance Premium Holiday as announced by the State of Maryland Department of Budget and Management. If you are a Regular employee, the paycheck you receive on October 22nd will not have payroll deductions for medical, prescription and dental insurance. Any other plans you may be enrolled in (such as term life, AD&D, and flexible spending accounts) will be deducted as usual.
Contingent employees who pay premiums on a monthly basis directly to the State of Maryland Employee Benefits Division have no premiums for medical, prescription or dental for the month of October.
