Students: Do you need health insurance? Is your current plan too expensive? If so, check out the TU-sponsored Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan. It’s affordable and provides excellent coverage whether you’re at school, home or abroad.
To be eligible, undergrads must be taking 9 or more credits; grad students must be taking 6 or more credits, or dissertation credit.
The plan costs $944 for students 34 years or younger for the spring semester. The cost is higher if you’re older. Check out the plan coverage and make an informed choice:
Go to www.aetnastudenthealth.com
- Under “Find Your School,” type Towson University
- Click “Medical Plan: Enroll”
- Scroll down to “Enroll: Domestic Students”
Sign up before the deadline of March 1, 2014. If payment is received by the deadline, coverage is retroactive to the plan start date of 1/15/2014.
Remember: the Affordable Care Act requires every American to be enrolled in an insurance plan by January 1, 2014. States like Maryland will offer plans to uninsured residents on their insurance exchange. You can check out these other plans and compare them to our Aetna SHIP by going to http://www.marylandhealthconnection.gov/. We think you will find our plan provides much better benefits at a lower cost than other plans.
Please note: All Towson University International students on F, J and other non-employment visas are automatically enrolled in the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan as of 1/15/2014 unless they file and receive an approved waiver. Information on filing the waiver is available on our website: www.towson.edu/dowellhealthcenter/insurance. The deadline for filing waiver is February 15. Refunds of the insurance premium will not be made if you fail to submit an online waiver application by the deadline.
