Attention, international students!!
All new entering international students and all returning international students will be billed for the Towson Student Health Insurance Plan (TU SHIP) for coverage extending from 01/15/2014 through 8/14/2014. This charge was placed on your university tuition account after you registered for Spring 2014 classes.
If you already have your own health insurance policy that you believe meets Towson University’s minimum standards, you may request a WAIVER from purchasing the TU SHIP. To request a waiver you must log on to the Online Waiver System and provide information about your current health insurance policy in English by the waiver deadline – February 15, 2014.
If your waiver is approved, the insurance charge will be removed from your student tuition account. After February 15 no waiver applications will be accepted and no insurance refunds will be granted.
Online Waiver Application Instructions
- Go to www.aetnastudenthealth.com
- Under Find Your School, Type Towson University
- Click “Medical Plan: Waive “
- Scroll down to, “Waive International Students: Aetna Student Health Plan”
The minimum waiver standards are available at the Towson University Health Center website.
Note: Waiver applications must be submitted online for the first semester in attendance and every Fall Semester thereafter by the waiver deadline. (If your waiver is approved for the Fall Semester it will be approved for the Spring Semester.)
