The Department of Health Science in the College of Health Professions will host a screening of A Place at the Table (approx. 84 min). This film explores the issue of hunger in America, including food access, poverty and related health outcomes. Following the film screening will be a panel discussion to explore issues presented in the film. The screening will serve as a collection point for a healthy food drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank. Attendees are asked to bring healthy food items for donation. Suggested items of need are dried beans, brown rice, pasta, low-sodium canned fruits, vegetables and soup, canned tuna or chicken, natural baby food and shelf stable milk.
