Killing Us Softly 4 movie screening and panel discussion:

Directed by Jean Kilbourne, Killing Us Softly 4 takes a fresh look at American advertising and challenges viewers to think critically about its relationship to sexism, eating disorders, gender violence, and politics. Following the screening there will be a panel discussion with: Kasey Serdar, Ph.D., Lisa Lilenfeld, Ph.D., Amanda Pileski, Ph.D., and Melee Pal, Psy.D.
Love Your Tree workshop:

This highly interactive and creative campaign provides students with an opportunity to use art as an avenue for learning about and expressing messages of body appreciation and for embracing body diversity.

Yoga For Body Acceptance:
Thursday 10/17, 7-9 p.m. (University Union room 306)
This 2-hour workshop, on cultivating contentment, led by Sarah Ziemann, includes a 90-minute yoga practice, meditation, guided imagery, and some discussion about yoga, body imagine, and cultivating contentment on and off the mat.
Please bring your own mat or towel if possible.
Natural Beauty event:
Friday 10/18, 1:30-3 p.m. (West Village Commons room 305)
Organized by Naturalista, a TU student group promoting pride in one’s natural hair, this event will consist of several stations to promote natural beauty, including: “I love my hair” video booth, natural hair and face masks, and a mini juice bar.
