Win $50 in Logo contest!

The Towson Journal of International Affairs is a student-run publication that publishes timely articles, most of which are written by students. The articles analyze world politics, foreign policy, or international affairs.  We are launching a new website for this journal, which will include instructions for contributors, issues of the journal itself, and other items of interest.  In addition, EBSCO—the “publisher” that owns and runs many of the databases used by Cook and most other libraries around the country—is publishing and distributing our journal in an online format.

To help establish our new online identity, we need a logo that will be prominently featured both on the website and on the cover of the journal.  As a result, we are offering a $50 prize to the student who comes up with this logo.  Submissions to the logo contest will be reviewed by a committee in early November.

All entries must therefore be received by Monday, November 4, with the winner being notified on or around Friday, November 8.  The logo should reflect our identity and mission, and maybe our title, too.

To enter your logo proposal into the contest, please send it as an email attachment to one or both of the following email addresses: IAJournal@towson.edu or cswann3@students.towson.edu.  Please include with your submission your name, email address and other contact info, and major.  The winner will not only have $50 deposited into his or her Towson account, but will have something not only to include on his or her resume, but also an online artifact that will be publicly available for many years to come.

All students who have written major research papers that they would like to have considered for publication are also encouraged to submit their papers to IAJournal@towson.edu.  Having an article published in a journal available to researchers in most universities around the country is also a pretty nice thing to include on one’s resume.  Finally, students who are interested in joining the journal’s staff should send inquiries to the journal’s email account as well.
