After-School Volunteer Opportunities in Baltimore

The AmeriCorps VISTA for Cherry Hill Projects in the Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement is looking for volunteers for after-school programs taking place in a south Baltimore neighborhood called Cherry Hill with which Towson University has partnered since 2005.

The opportunities include:

Homework Help: Provide homework help to 5th-8th grade students during study hall after-school at Arundel Elementary-Middle.  Volunteers will help with homework completion and review of other subjects every Tuesday 3-4 P.M. Transportation will be provided.

Young Gardeners Program- Volunteers are needed for the Young Gardeners Program to teach elementary-middle school students after-school about the basics of gardening and nutrition. This program will take place every Thursday from 4:45-5:45 at Arundel Elementary-Middle School. An easy to follow curriculum will be in place for the volunteers to use throughout the program. Transportation will be provided
