Thoughtful Thursday will not be in Freedom Square this week, but you can still answer the question of the week and engage in thoughtful conversation on our website.
The question for this week is: What college experiences best prepare students for post-college life?
For many students, college life is a wonderful time living an ideal existence. In some ways it is an escape from the real world. In spite of the stress that many students experience over various issues, such as real financial worries, occasional social drama and worries about career decisions they will make once they graduate, college life has some benefits. Many of the expectations faced in college are good practice for the expectations that will be faced in the workplace. The college experience not only prepares students for their career, but it also prepares them for life outside of their career. Through interactions with fellow students, professors, internship supervisors and coworkers, as well as other college staff, there are skills gained that cannot be taught.
