After a very successful semester of bringing mindfulness workshops to students, the Counseling Center would like to expand this service and offer mindfulness workshops to TU faculty and staff. If you or your department would like to participate in an experiential mindfulness workshop, email Jon Gorman at the Counseling Center (jgorman@towson.edu) to schedule a time for a workshop. Workshops will be scheduled throughout the semester based on participants’ availability.
“Mindfulness” refers to moment-to-moment nonjudgmental awareness. Research has demonstrated that mindfulness practices reduce stress and worry; improve memory, focus, and cognitive flexibility; decrease emotional reactivity; and enhance relationship satisfaction. At workshops, participants will learn tools to begin cultivating greater mindfulness. Email jgorman@towson.edu with any questions.
