To celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the founding of the Towson University Newman Club (1949-50) and the 115th Anniversary of the first Newman Club at the University of Pennsylvania (1890), members of our Towson University music faculty will host a program of Dallapiccola, Beethoven, and Brahms on the 204th Anniversary of the birth of John Henry Newman (1801-1890) – Englishman, Educator, Preacher, Poet, Violinist, Theologian, Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and Patron of Catholic Campus Ministry in the USA and abroad.
