Win $$$ for your writing

Grub Street, TU’s Literary and Arts Magazine, is sponsoring its 1st Annual Contest for Writing. The theme, written in ANY genre (poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction, drama), is “Why I Write/What I Want My Writing to Accomplish.” The prize, in addition to publication in the 2005 issue of Grub Street, is The Lux Veritatis Award for Writing–formerly The Noposeur’s Prize–in the amount of $100!

The Nitty Gritty:

So, if you’re still reading, you’re probably interested, right? And, more than likely, you’re a writer–if not only a closet word-lover. So…why do you do it? No, I’m not talking about the secrets you keep stashed in that bulky closet of yours. Why do you write? What kind of urge keeps you going in spite of the ever-looming prospect of the “would you like fries with that?” promise if you fail?

Nothing cheesy, please. We know you’re creative; now it’s time to show it AND have something to show for it.

Please submit your entries to {grubstreet1952@hotmail.com} as either a Word attachment or within the text of your e-mail. OR, you can mail them to TU Box 4018. We’ll need your name, e-mail address, phone number, and address. Oh, and of course your unparalleled reasoning for why you write.

Deadline is December 1st. So get to it!
