The Night of Broken Glass- An Art Project

FYSH Social Night @ JAC – Tonight @ 7pm: Rebuilding Broken Glass

All freshmen and transfer students are invited to this special evening program. Learn about Kristallnacht- the Night of the Broken Glass- & rebuild the future through a window art project in JAC (Jewish Activities Center- located off of Newell Dining).

Kristallnacht (“Night of the Broken Glass”) occurred in Germany on Nov. 9, 1938. It was a night of violence against Jews and of destruction of the businesses and other property belonging to them. Orders gave way to government-encouraged riots that resulted in 91 Jewish dead, hundreds injured, and 7,500 businesses and 177 synagogues gutted. Please come to the event to learn about the night known as Kristallnacht, and construct window art to signify the rebuilding and beautification of the Jewish community and world.
