The TU Society of Professional Journalists will be screening the recently released Veronica Guerin (Touchstone) on April 27, 2004, in Lecture Hall 238, beginning at 6 p.m. According to Movie.com, this biopic is based on the true story of Irish journalist Veronica Guerin (Cate Blanchett), whose investigative reporting on Dublin’s drug underworld led to numerous attempts on her life. She became a heroine in the eyes of the locals, who praised her for eventually giving her life to tell the truth. A discussion about the film will follow the screening. Popcorn will be provided. All are welcome to attend.
