Student Leaders, Here?s Your Chance! Be a Part of the New EDOC Campaign!

The Eating Disorders Outreach Committee (EDOC) is kicking off a new campaign for the 2012-2013 year! Starting next semester, posters, handouts, and digital displays will highlight leaders on the Towson University campus. We are currently looking for a diverse group of student leaders, both men and women, to help promote and act as a role model for healthy body image and self-esteem. Healthy body image and self-esteem includes:

? Exercising for health, wellness, and fun rather than attempting to look like a model or celebrity
? Avoiding the judgment of others based on their weight
? Not engaging in any eating disorder behaviors
? Avoiding ?fat talk? by asking others ?Do I look fat?? or making statements like ?I (or others) need to lose weight?

If you or someone in your group meets these standards or wants to help promote these ideals, please consider applying to be a part of the EDOC campaign!

To apply, students must not be graduating in the Spring or Summer 2012, and must hold some form of a leadership position in a campus group. We are most interested in students who represent a variety of body types, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. Please e-mail a resume and brief 100-250 word essay discussing how you might be a good role model for the campus. Applicants chosen to be a part of the campaign will receive FREE PRIZES!

Please e-mail materials to Katie Valliere at {kvalli1@students.towson.edu} no later than May 7, 2012.
