Sexual Assault Support Group: Towson Counseling Center

One in four women are survivors of attempted or completed sexual assault by the time they graduate from college. For many, the experience is very difficult to talk about and these women feel alone and sometimes ashamed. If you have been sexually assaulted, you are not alone and what happened to you is not your fault.

This group will allow female survivors of sexual assault (experienced recently or in the past) to join together to gain support from one another and to learn ways to cope with the aftermath of the assault. Group members will not be asked to share the details of their assault but will have the opportunity to explore the impact it has had on their lives. The group will meet weekly during the spring semester. If you have experienced a sexual assault, we hope that you will consider contacting us for more information about the group. You can directly contact Counseling Center staff member, Melissa Trevathan-Minnis, one of the group facilitators, at 410-704-2512.
