Joint MBA Program Approved by MHEC

Secretary of the Maryland Higher Education Commission Calvin Burnett informed us this morning that he has approved Towson University and the University of Baltimore’s request to offer jointly a new Master of Business Administration program. The new program will add two new specialization tracks based on the strengths of Towson faculty. The joint program will benefit from the American Association of Colleges and Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation of the University of Baltimore MBA program from the first day of operation.

We are excited and gratified by the approval. We have the largest business program in the Baltimore area and are poised to grow and mature that program to serve the region’s needs. Based on a collaborative philosophy and building on the strength of the two institutions, the joint MBA will offer a very high quality program that will provide needed access in the public higher education sector. We also think this innovative step is another example of institutions in the University System of Maryland working collaboratively for the benefit of Maryland.
