Parking Permit Sales for Students

All student parking permits, EXCEPT FRESHMAN RESIDENT STUDENT PERMITS, for the 2005-2006 academic year will go on sale, Monday, August 1. Walk-in sales will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by Internet sales at 9 a.m. Students may purchase their permit via the Internet on the Parking Services Web site at {http://parking.towson.edu} (Internet sales will end on Friday, August 19), through the mail, or in person at the Auxiliary Services Business Office, located in room 118 of the University Union. All commuter students and all sophomore, junior, and senior resident students will be eligible to purchase parking permits. Other than for freshman resident students, there are no restrictions on parking permits. All individuals who request a permit will receive one.

Additional parking information may be found at the Web site at {http://parking.towson.edu}.

FRESHMAN RESIDENT STUDENTS PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW

A LIMITED NUMBER OF FRESHMAN RESIDENT PARKING PERMITS MAY BE ISSUED IF SPACE BECOMES AVAILABLE. FRESHMAN RESIDENT STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW THE PROCESS BELOW OR THEY WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO POSSIBLY OBTAIN A PARKING PERMIT.

Freshman resident students should NOT send an application and payment at this time. Students who register on a first-come, first-served basis may be granted the opportunity to purchase a parking permit if space becomes available. In order to be eligible to obtain a parking permit, freshman residents must register on the wait-list, via e-mail at {wait-list@towson.edu} (This is not a Web page). The wait-list will open at 9 am EST on Monday, August 1. PHONE CALL REQUESTS AND MAILED REQUESTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Freshman resident students should e-mail their name and student ID number requesting placement on the freshman permit wait-list. Parking Services, within 1-2 business days, will confirm receipt of your registration via return e-mail. Please do not call about the status of permits or your place in line on the wait-list. We will notify you if and when you become eligible to purchase a permit.

Freshman students who do not register for the wait-list as instructed will not be eligible to obtain a parking permit, should one become available. If a permit becomes available and you do not purchase the permit, it will be given to the next individual on the waitlist and you will need to resubmit your request to be added to the waitlist again.

Freshman resident students will be notified by e-mail if a permit becomes available for purchase. Since only a limited number of permits will be available, freshmen resident students MAY NOT bring a car to campus unless they have been notified they are eligible for a permit AND have purchased a permit.
