The Towson University Police Department will be offering a Rape, Aggression, Defense (RAD) course for female students.
RAD is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. The RAD system begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance. RAD also teaches hands-on defense training. RAD is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense tactics.
The course will be held on Thursday evenings beginning on October 1, 2009 and continuing on Thursday evenings for the next four consecutive weeks. The classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. Class location will be provided when confirmation is received.
The course is open to all female students and is available at no cost. Register early, as class size is limited.
