New Mental Health Awareness Group Forming on Campus!!

Be a part of something great!

Active Minds is a student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy organization.

The group?s mission is to utilize peer outreach to:

? Make students more aware of mental illness, learning disability, and substance abuse issues
? Provide students with information and resources regarding mental health and mental illness, learning disabilities, and substance abuse.
? Encourage students to seek help as soon as it is needed
? Serve as liaison between students and the mental health community
? Promote “self health” by emphasizing the need to care for the body as well as the mind
? Reduce stigma by promoting open dialog, education, and awareness

Interested? There will be an information session on April 12, 2006 at 2pm in UU 314-315. A speaker from the national Active Minds organization will be in attendance.
