During the month of November there will be a special enrollment period for all eligible faculty and staff members who have not previously enrolled in the UnumProvident Group Life Insurance plan offered through the University System of Maryland. During this time, eligible faculty and staff members will be able to enroll in the new USM Group Life Insurance plan by completing an application form along with evidence of insurability. Current enrollees in the USM Group Life Insurance (which shows on the paystub as GROUP LIF INS) will be receiving materials directly from UnumProvident explaining the changes in the new plan that will go into effect as of February 1, 2006.
A representative from UnumProvident will be available on Thursday, November 17 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Chesapeake Room I in the University Union to present details of the program and answer questions.
Enrollment materials for those employees not currently enrolled in the USM Group Life Insurance plan are available in the literature racks in the Office of Human Resources or upon request.
