The fall meeting of the Towson AAUP will be Wednesday, November 9, from 3:30-5 p.m., in Smith Hall 265.
Current priorities of Towson’s AAUP chapter include:
-Moves by senior administrators to control faculty prerogatives in such areas as hiring, program development, and Promotion and Tenure
-Administration vs. faculty role in choosing program directors
-Salary compression
-Work-load
-Criteria for promotion and tenure
-“Merit”
-Five-year review procedures and expectations for tenured faculty
-Inequities in retirement benefits
-Solidarity with part-time/adjunct faculty
