The Maryland State Department of Budget and Management has announced that SHPS, Inc. has been selected to administer the HealthCare and Dependent (Day Care) Flexible Spending Accounts for regular employees in the State Employees Benefits Program effective July 1, 2005.
Regular faculty and staff employees may now call the SHPS Customer Service Center to speak with SHPS Benefits Counselors concerning Health Care and Dependent Care Spending Accounts. Their Web site is also available to provide general information as well as a special feature: an ?FSA Calculator? which can help you estimate how much money you could save in taxes by using a pre-tax FSA plan. Then, beginning July 1, 2005, SHPS? Customer Service Center, their IVR automated phone system and their Web site will be available with specific personal account information for all regular employees who enrolled in the FSA?s during this OE.
SHPS? Customer Service Center can be reached between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday-Friday, toll free at 1-877-358-4276; the fax number is 1-866-643-2219. Check their Web site at {http://www.shps.com} for more details.
With this change from the current FSA administrator, CompuSys/ERISA, to SHPS, all questions and/or claims for services incurred through June 30, 2005 should be directed to CompuSys/ERISA at 1-888-966-3539 or at their Web site: {http://www.flexmd.org}. Questions and claims for services incurred after July 1, 2005 would be the responsibility of SHPS.
