Benefits Bulletin: Tuition Remission Update- Summer 2005 Deadlines

Towson University?s Bursar’s Office is now accepting tuition remission requests for Towson?s 2005 summer sessions until Monday, May 2. Tuition remission benefits for the summer sessions are limited to a maximum of eight credits, over the entire summer, for both eligible full-time employees and any eligible spouses/dependent children.

Please note that 1:1 courses such as advanced studio and private lessons, self-support programs such as computer certification courses, College of Education closed contract courses and courses offered through the Center for Applied Information Technology and the Towson Learning Network are currently excluded from the tuition remission program at Towson.

The University of Maryland University College has announced that they are also accepting tuition remission requests for its summer sessions. The last date UMUC will accept remission requests for summer 2005 is Tuesday, May 31 so please plan accordingly.

Frostburg State University has also notified us that all tuition remission requests for its summer 2005 sessions must be submitted prior to or at the time of registration or the student?s registration will be cancelled.

Tuition remission request forms are available from both Towson?s Office of Human Resources and the Bursar’s Office, as well as under the Forms section of the OHR Benefits Web site at {http://wwwnew.towson.edu/adminfinance/hr/benefits/index.asp}. All requests for tuition remission at Towson or at any of the other USM schools or other participating institutions must be returned to Towson?s OHR for certification and processing.
