Benefits Bulletin: Vision Benefit Reminder

All faculty and staff employees who are currently enrolled in any of the medical plans available under the Maryland State benefits program are reminded that all routine vision care benefits are provided directly by their medical plan. Now, all covered members are eligible to use vision services once each calendar year beginning every Jan.1 instead of every 24 months. To access these routine vision services, members must contact their medical plan before obtaining vision care services. For most of the medical plans, members may use any vision care provider and submit claims for reimbursement or use participating/network providers to eliminate the need to file for reimbursements.

To obtain details of how to access your new routine vision care benefits, please contact Member Services of your medical plan by calling the number on your membership card or on the back cover of your 2004 Benefits book.

Questions should be directed to Dave Curtis, x46018 email: {dcurtis@towson.edu} or Gail Price, x46017 email: {gprice@towson.edu}
