Special Invitation to Join the Osher Lifelong Leaning Institute at Towson University

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Towson University, formerly the Auburn Society, is extending to all Towson University faculty and staff, regardless of age, a special invitation to join our organization at one of two supporting membership rates:

$25 per year
$50 per year

Towson University?s Osher Institute has received a $100,000 grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation for the academic year 2006-2007 with the possibility of an endowment within the next three years if our membership grows to 500. We are currently conducting a membership drive and are asking your support in helping us to achieve that number.

Osher offers daytime courses in the fine arts, humanities, social sciences and physical sciences as well as two book clubs. Classes are one hour and fifteen minutes in length and are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the first level of Terrace Dale (7801 York Road). Coffee and sweets are available throughout the day. We also offer day trips, special lectures and social events.

Even though you are still employed, you may find the time to take one or two of our courses during the spring or fall semesters or participate in some of our other activities. Our catalog of spring courses will be online in early January.

For the $25 annual supporting membership fee:
Your may take one four-week course each semester.
You will be eligible to participate in any of our other events at our usual member rates.
You will receive a copy of our catalog each semester and notices of all events.

For the $50 annual supporting membership fee:
You may take two four-week courses each semester.
You will be eligible to participate in any of our other events at our usual member rates.
You will receive a copy of our catalog each semester and notices of all events.
