As the result of a system reconfiguration, all O: drives will be unavailable from 10 p.m. Saturday, August 11 until noon Sunday, August 12. The reconfiguration will significantly improve service reliability and system performance.
You must log off of your computer when you leave Friday, August 10 to enable the change to take place. All individuals using on-campus Windows computers should see the new O: drive (department folder) location when they log into their computers on Monday.
For most individuals, there will be no changes necessary – the process of logging out on Friday and logging in on Monday will map the O: drive on its own. However, individuals who manually map a file share to their department folder (such as student employees, VPN users off-campus or Macintosh users), must remap their department folder. The share path will change from \golddepartment$ to \deptsharedepartment$.
Macintosh users must manually configure a map to the new O: drive. Instructions to map the O: drive are available on the OTS Self-Help site at {http://www.towson.edu/adminfinance/OTS/training/documentation/Macintosh/Macintosh_Connecting_to_Shares.pdf}. Questions on Macintosh systems should be directed to the Virtual Mac Support Team at {macusers@towson.edu}.
OTS will be upgrading all cross department shares August 18 – stay tuned for an upcoming announcement on this upgrade.
