NY Times Readership Program for Spring Semester

As part of Towson’s civic engagement agenda, faculty members across campus have been participating in the “Teaching with The New York Times” program, a partnership between the American Democracy Project, the New York Times, and institutions of higher education across the country. Professors have used The New York Times to enrich their course curriculum in a variety of ways. This integration promotes civic engagement as the paper is used to:

* Encourage critical thinking
* Promote global awareness
* Cultivate social responsibility
* Bring relevancy into the classroom
* Foster serendipitous learning
