An important message from Dr. Jin Gong, Dean, College of Graduate Studies and Research:
We are all aware that issues of research responsibility and ethics swirl around university work done as faculty research, student assignments, theses, projects, and reports, as well as exams and assignments. We read of noted scholars being challenged for academic honesty and we see cases of student cheating and plagiarism.
We wish to assess faculty ideas on these issues and on the value of increased education in the practice of responsible research. The link below leads to an anonymous survey for all faculty across the campus. I urge you to take just a few minutes to respond on this important issue. It will provide us with guidance as we plan better ways to educate our students and ourselves about academic integrity and scholarly honesty.
