Encourage your Students to attend Public Forum on Homelessness!

Attention TU Faculty!

Below is information about an opportunity to promote active citizenship in your classes! Encourage your students to attend the student forum on homelessness:

STUDENT FORUM
Date: Wednesday October 6, 2010
Time: 6:30 PM ? 8:30 PM
Location: University Union, Chesapeake Rooms I & II

Leaders from the Baltimore County Government, Baltimore County Communities for the Homeless, and United Way of Central Maryland will soon be drafting a plan to end homelessness. These organizations are seeking student ideas and input to take action on this growing issue.

Towson University is proud to host a student forum designed to educate participants about challenges faced by the homeless. Students will also participate in small group experiential exercises geared around this topic.

Moreover the upcoming six-day ?charrette? planning process will be introduced. A charrette is an intense planning session designed to foster collaboration and feedback and to build consensus for solutions. Each of the charrette events are open to the public and will occur October 20-25.

Please encourage your students to attend this event and visit {www.baltimorecountymd.gov/homeless} for additional and detailed information.

The Student Forum is sponsored by the Baltimore County Communities for the Homeless, Baltimore County Government, United Way of Central Maryland, Towson Chamber of Commerce, and TU Department of Civic Engagement.
