The USM has just launched a new Regents? Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This award is designed to recognize a member of our faculty and staff that has started a new commercial venture or social enterprise over the past three years. The award is an acknowledgment that, in this economic climate, universities play an important role in supporting economic growth through their research, innovation, commercialization of technologies and economic development.
While Towson University and other USM institutions have been involved in entrepreneurial activities, this new award provides Towson with an opportunity to be recognized as an integral part of the region?s economy and entrepreneurial environment.
The timeframe to apply for the award is short as all applications are to be submitted by October 12, 2012. To download the application and learn more about the judging criteria go to http://www.usmd.edu/entrepreneur. The Division of Economic and Community Outreach will be coordinating applications for the university. Please call on us for questions and assistance.
