The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSPR) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) are excited to announce the re-launch of the IACUC website. Investigators can now find more information on the following:
- The submission and review process for new and modified protocols
- A separate field research application form and student liability waiver
- Reporting animal-related concerns and unanticipated events
- Expectations for institutional and USDA facility inspections
In addition, after thorough discussion and feedback from regulatory agencies and campus staff, new IACUC application forms have been developed and posted. All faculty and staff are required to use these forms for new protocol submissions. These forms require more detail than the previous, but will help alleviate many concerns that the committee commonly found in submissions and will satisfy regulating agency requirements. It is the IACUC’s hope that this will lessen the burden on investigators during the review and revision process.
